I read this quote and it reminded me how I’ve encouraged teammates and direct reports to “ABRM”: Always Be Recruiting Mentors.
There is a Venn diagram of the negative things people are thinking in your imagination, and the negative things people are actually thinking. The key is to identify the overlap.
A valuable mentor has the power to address sunk cost, ego, and motivated reasoning.
