I’ve been a Marc Andreessen fanboi since I installed Netscape on every computer I built in the 90’s.
It wasn’t until his last appearance on Rogan that I fully recognized the neurodivergence, obsession with intelligence, and superiority complex.
This vibe manages to be attenuated in his posts.
The Industrial Revolution which improved the quality of life and led to modern society also produced barons of the Gilded Age.
My sense is that today’s barons of the Gilded Age 2.0 don’t have the same buy-in to the national project.
Their own traumas, egos, and complexes won’t permit them to be vulnerable, authentic, or trustworthy.
This isn’t their problem, though.
It’s ours.
