The word “podcast” was coined to describe the distribution of audio content over the internet that could be downloaded and listened to on portable devices such as the iPod.
The original neologism itself was created in 2004.
I’m curious: approximately what percentage of the folks promoting the idea of “Podcasting 2.0” have never actually held an original iPod?
To me, the concept of Podcasting 2.0 is the brand equivalent of, like, designers having a competition to reimagine the “Save” icon imagery that was a 3.5” floppy disk.
