Something Dot Com

Three decades ago, while working as tech support for both dial-up and DSL connectivity to the internet, I needed a quality-check.

It was a simple URL to establish that the service was functioning, and the browser wasn’t pulling from cached web data.

It still is: something.com.

If the user said it didn’t work cuz it was just a blank screen, I made sure they looked closely at the top-left corner.

It was my own nerdy, tech support Easter Egg.
