My business and organizational leadership thesis is basically:

  • Peter Drucker stated that “the purpose of business is to create a customer, the business enterprise has two — and only two — basic functions: marketing and innovation. Everything else is costs.
  • The non-intuitive path to innovation starts with vulnerability.
  • People present as vulnerable are viewed as authentic. We develop trust and confidence in people who are authentic. We engage with, consume from, and collaborate with people we trust. We collaborate with people we trust to solve a clearly defined performance-related challenge. Solving a performance-related challenge is known as “innovation.”
